As Frederic area youth learned in 2005, the most difficult - and yet most rewarding - place in the world to do a mission project is at home right here in Frederic. With that awareness, youth from Frederic area churches are joining together for the Home Field Advantage project. HFA is a youth mission project serving Frederic and the surrounding area beginning July 27.

The goal is to share the love of God in practical ways with people right here in their own community. Special attention will be given to the needs of the elderly, disabled or otherwise disadvantaged.

During the Home Field Advantage week, youth will be involved in a variety of service projects including yard and house work, light construction, painting, window washing, planting, firewood preparation, garbage removal, etc.

The Block Party

The week will conclude on August 3 with a community block party to which everyone from the area is invited. There will be free food, games, and entertainment. (More)

Who's Involved

Many of Frederic's churches are in on the project. Also involved are many area businesses and individuals.

Approximately 33.33% More Meat

Sunday, July 27th, 2008 at 2:18 pm

The HFA week will end with a community block party for all ages at Coon Lake Park in Frederic on Sunday, August 3 at 4:00pm. The rumor going around is we figured out how many people we could safely expect and then rounded up the amount of meat and other food to get by a third, so we need to you to bring all your friends to eat it all up. Besides the free food we’ll have bounce houses for kids and games for the entire family.

After the service today at Frederic EFC we played a couple music videos from Ernie Couch & Revival, the live music for the party. They’ll be traveling from Nashville to join us. The back of the door hangers being distributed describes them:

Earnie Couch & Revival exemplifies what good Gospel music is all about. This live band performs their music in a unique blend of styles to enusre everyone present enjoys the concert. EC&R is well known across the United States and Canada for its high-energy brand of live music. Many describe the group as refreshingly different, and a lot of fun.

Here’s a video of one of their songs, The Lighthouse:

    with Coon Lake’s surf crashing in the background, this song could be a really special moment.

    Please know that we are praying for you and your missionary work throughout the community. All of you are living in such a way that others are seeing Christ in you. The commitment of helping others and sharing the Word of God is making a positive difference in our community.

    Here are some words of encouragement;

    “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12)
